Following his nomination and screening as a ministerial nominee by the Federal Government, former governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, received royal and political leaders from Ife at his Lagos State residence on Thursday 1st of August, 2019.
The Obalufe of Ife, His Royal Majesty, Oba Idowu Adediwura and Hon. Marcus Adedini led members of Ife traditional and political stakeholders to pay a courtesy visit to the ministerial nominee, representing State of Osun.
In his speech, Oba Idowu Adediwura, Obalufe of Ife relayed the message of the Ooni of Ife, HIM, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, saying his nomination for ministerial position would bring forth development to the people of Nigeria and Osun.
While speaking on behalf of the entourage, Oba Muritala Adedoyin Owakogun of Okewere Kingdom, applauded Aregbesola for proving himself as a true ‘Omoluabi’ of Yoruba tribe, especially State of Osun.
In his reaction, Hon. Marcus Adedini, who led the team of political leaders of Ife, appreciated the former governor for his kind gesture towards Ife people on special preference given to the ancient town of the Yoruba tribe.
Aregbesola, in his remark, however, appreciated the Ooni of Ife and the whole Ife land, describing the cradle of Yoruba source as the first town to pay him a visit after his nomination and screening at the upper chamber of the national Assembly.
Aregbesola also appreciated the efforts of Senator Iyiola Omisore towards the development of Osun state, as he described Omisore as a dependable Ife son, who had always given his all to the city.
