A youth group, Lagos Youths Ambassadors, has adopted and endorsed a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Princess Abiodun Oyefusi (PAO) for Lagos East Senatorial District ticket of the PDP.
Oyefusi, PDP candidate for Lagos East District in 2019, ran election for the seat against the late Bayo Osinowo, who died last month after a brief illness said to be connected with COVID-19.
While speaking with ALLSKYTVNEWS, the chairman of Lagos Youths Ambassadors, Prince Temiloluiwa Owolabi, said Oyefusi was the most qualified for the job at this crucial time in the history of the state.
According to him, supporting Oyefusi for the position in the bye-election is the very best thing for Lagos East, as she is a great politician of deep experience and many potentials.
”On a very serious note, we can’t trade our destiny for bread; PAO is a committed party member, that stood by the party at its trying times and did her best in promoting all about the party.
”For a woman to have contested an election as a Senator and scoring over a hundred thousand votes; PDP has a set precedent, let us follow what is right and just.”
In her remark, the secretary of the group, Ebunoluwa Adetiba, said the group was supporting Oyefusi due to her continuous support and empowerment of both youths and aged through the payment of medical bills and school fees.
She noted that Oyefusi deserved to be in the Upper Chamber for her good work to continue, as her influence cut across all sections of the party and state.
In her response, Oyefusi said she was encouraged by the group’s gesture and as such, she was determined to serve the people of the district at the National Assembly.
