The appointed national Chairman of Anti-Corruption Awareness Organization Nigeria Dr Nnice Duzey has advised the federal government to make the Nigeria institution strong and functional, in an interview with AllSky TV News, the Anti-Corruption Organization Boss further advised the government to allow the investigative bodies to carry out their duties without sentiment or influencing their operations politically.
He further elaborate on the next line of action as the new national Chairman.
My goals on taking ACAON to the next level of new development and operational upgrading is by focussing on
1. Human resources development
2. Reducing corruption through public engagement and technological innovative research in curbing corruption and crimes
3. Creating awareness over value of Legalization in the society and encourage sincerity in government agencies and ministries, making the private sector as a strong partner in reducing corruption in Nigeria.
4. Educating our teenagers and young adults on the reason to shun corruption and crimes in other to have a great and strong institutions in Nigeria
5. Rebranding and expanding the ACAON operational services and be more involved in solving societal problems.
Every ACAON member both old and new have every privilege to contribute whatever they have to the development of the organization because the new leadership will run an open and transparent system that will accommodate every member. ACAON has a traditions, rules and regulations, constitutions and guidance in recruiting his members and the organization is large enough to accommodate every sincere Nigerians and we shall be mending fences over unresolved issues.
I am not for a particular State nor region but for the entire Nigeria Federation and beyond. I have already started visiting some States and their leaders to know their grievances, problems and how we can join hands together for the solution and also take ACAON to the next level.
Before the year runs out we must have a befiting Head Office in Lagos State. All ACAON members must be united. Our relationship with other sister agencies will be cordial and strong. Both national and State commands will be reawaken to function well. All former MOU’s with others will be renewed. All officer’s will be motivated to be functional and active.
Corruption is an organised crime and its has weakened our institutions, we need strong and functional institution to fight or reduce corruption in Nigeria. So my advice to the Federal Government is that, they should allow the Anti-corruption agencies to work with out political interference and that they should allow private detective backed by law to function. They should also allow institutions to stand without any influence.
The major challenges of ACAON are finance, lack of commitment and by members not satisfy with the state of things.
I intend to seek all members opinion to source for fund and its accountability and transparent system, harmonize members relationship and boost their morale of commitment and allow all officer’s to play their functional roles according to the Constitution.
